On Wednesday 12th September, the St Bede boys’ football team took part in a friendly tournament against local schools at Kings’. The boys represented the school beautifully, not just in the way they played skilful and fantastic football, but the way in which they conducted themselves both on and off the pitch. They were polite, respectful and encouraging to each other and the other teams. They certainly showed that they were Safe, Ready and Respectful, expectations that we have been working hard on in school.
At the tournament we were undefeated, managing to successfully win five of our six matches, scoring eight goals! A special mention must go to our defenders and goalkeeper because we also managed not to concede a single goal throughout the tournament! Once all of our games were completed, we were unsure how the other teams had performed throughout the afternoon so waited with bated breath for the results to be announced and we were very excited to hear that we were the champions.
A wonderful afternoon of football – well done boys and what a great way to start the new sporting season!
