Google Classroom- introducing a new method of online learning
In the summer we wrote to you explaining that we were undertaking training in creating a virtual classroom for children who may be well but needing to self isolate, or if we need to provide onine learning in the event of the school, or a bubble, needing to close temporarily. The first stage of this training has now been completed and children will be coming home tonight with details about how to log in to Google Classroom and also we have created a support page on the school website with more details - https://www.stbedewinchester.co.uk/google-classroom-support/
This half term, so that we all get used to the new technologies, we will be setting home learning tasks via Google Classroom. Pupils in Year R will receive their first home learning tasks later this half term. All other pupils will have a challenge set for them by the end of next week. Once completed tasks are then uploaded by pupils for teachers to see. Teachers will respond to home learning tasks virtually and/or in class teaching time, but as staff are involved in ‘live’ teaching in school across each day, responding to online learning may involve a time lag.
