On Wednesday 18th April the St Bede Band 2 Gymnastics team headed to Kings' School for a gymnastics competition against other local schools. The children had been introduced to the routines and skills at a previous event but this time they were performing for the competition judges.
When they arrived, the children took part in a fun and energetic warm up led by some of the Kings' School pupils. They then prepared for their first event - the 'Body Management'. There were some nerves at first but with some encouragement they worked hard to impress the judges, and succeeded! The second event was the ‘Vault’ where the children were required to jump onto and off the vault with elegance and precision, the children performed this skill with confidence. The third and final event for the team was the ‘Floor Exercise’ where, amongst other skills, they produced amazing somersaults (back and forward) finishing the routine with a cartwheel.
The whole school are incredibly impressed with the team's courage, determination and positivity. They approached each event bravely and carefully and we are incredibly proud of all of their performances.
