Inspiring messages about what can be achieved with hard work

In our Friday worship last week, and building on sessions thinking about our school motto and values; ‘Growing together in love and peace, with courage, trust and frienship,’ we were lucky enough to listen to Miss Beckett’s inspirational story of her time as a competitive swimmer, including competing in the Commonwealth and Olympic games.

Her messages about the importance of trying our best, of listening to the advice of others and of how to pick yourself up from disappointment and still go on to greater things were so relevant to us all. Children asked really thoughtful questions afterwards and I think many of us, children and adults alike, left the hall uplifted and inspired.

A huge thank you to Miss Beckett, we are really proud of what you have achieved and grateful for the messages and memories you shared with us.
