A brave St Bede team battled all day in challenging conditions, eventually finishing runners up in the Winchester District Kwik Cricket tournament.
Their tactic of batting first worked well as they continuously set good scores, using both power and precision to demoralise their opponents. Then it was up to the bowling to squeeze the opposition, and all 8 players did a magnificent job, taking timely wickets and spectacular catches. With lashes of sun cream and gallons of water needed to keep them going, the team couldn't quite manage a 6th win in a row, losing out in a hotly contested final to deserving winners Knightwood (a team who St Bede had beaten earlier on their way to the final).
Well done to all involved, we are very proud of your achievements!
