As is the tradition at St. Bede School, an Easter egg decorating competition will be held in the last week of term. The idea is for the children to take a hard boiled egg or a blown egg and to decorate it or use it as a centrepiece for a creative scene. To help with the decoration, all sorts of different resources and materials can be used. This is a great opportunity to think creatively and for the children to use their imaginations! Please note that there is a size limitation – the entries should be no larger than an ordinary shoebox. Dependant on appropriate submission of entries, a prize will be awarded for the best entry from each house team in each year group across the school. A chocolate egg will be awarded to all entrants.
If your child would like to participate, we ask that the eggs are brought to school on Tuesday 2nd April. The entries will be displayed at school and judging will take place during the school day with results announced the following day during our Easter services and celebrations at Holy Trinity Church. (Please note prizes for EYFS will be announced at their Easter celebration on Thursday 4th April at school.) Entry forms will be sent out with the newsletter week beginning 18th March and forms will also be available in the school office on Tuesday 2nd April.
Once an entry form is completed, eggs should be taken to the Wolvesey Classroom and placed on the appropriate table. Children will be encouraged to collect their eggs at the end of the school day on Tuesday 2nd April . Good luck everyone and happy eggventing.
