Winchester and District Cricket Festival Monday 20th May

St. Bede knocked the opposition for six and bowled over spectators at the Winchester and District Cricket Festival at Hursley Park on Monday.  They stormed through the group stages with four wins out of four, showing enormous skill and fantastic team spirit as all ten players contributed magnificently. Those victories – two of which were by a margin of over 100 runs – put them into the semi-finals.

Unsurprisingly, they took the challenge of the knockout stages in their stride, comfortably easing past a strong Colden Common side to set-up a final with Knightwood, the team that had beaten them at the semi-final stage the previous season. Despite a sensational bowling and fielding display, Knightwood eventually claimed the title.  Every single St Bede team member, though, had done themselves and their school proud. A massive thank you to both Rich Edwards and Jake Hiscock for coaching, supporting and encouraging the children throughout the day.

Well done to: Danny, Jacob, Jack, Oliver, Joseph, Jemima, Aleks, Joe, Mack, Muhammad.
