Year Six County 7s Finals

On Friday 5th October the St Bede Year 6 Football team took part in the County 7s Finals at Wide Lane in Eastleigh.

The boys qualified for this competition after winning a tournament at Kings’ school where they were selected to represent Winchester and North Eastleigh. We were already incredibly proud of the boys for qualifying for the event.

The standard at the competition was very high and the boys were keen to step up a level and hold their own in the competition. They worked incredibly hard as a team and, throughout the tournament; they went from strength to strength. It was a hot day and the boys played 8 tough matches in the heat and against very strong competition.

The boys pulled together as a team with some excellent team work which meant we won 3 of our matches.  The final results were announced at the end of the afternoon with the St Bede boys coming in an impressive 5th position with 9 points.  During the tournament the boys were even able to take some penalties against one of the goalkeepers from the Pompey U18 squad!  Thank you to the parents who came to support and for the big bag of snacks that kept the boys going throughout the long and exciting afternoon!
