Growing Together
‘Safeguarding’ is defined in the Children Act 2004 as protecting from maltreatment; preventing impairment of health and development; ensuring that children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care; and work in a way that gives the best life chances and transition to adult hood. Our safeguarding practice applies to every child.
At St. Bede Primary School if you have any concerns about safeguarding please speak to any one of these people:
If you have concerns about a child, you should report them to our DSL Sarah Duck, or the DDSLs, David Metcalfe and Rebecca Corrigan. If a child makes a disclosure to you that concerns you or indicates potential harm, do not ask questions, make notes as soon as possible, and report the concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Leads.
If you have concerns about a member of staff or an adult, these should be reported to the Headteacher, Sarah Duck.
If you have concerns about the headteacher, these should be reported to the Chair of Governors, Helen Gummerson.
