Year 2 and in Butterfly Class took part in Samba workshops, kindly funded by the HSA, following on from those in Year 1 and Ladybird Class.

 

Butterfly class were visited by Rachel from the Hampshire Music Service. We had lots of fun singing and playing games that focussed on listening skills. We were each given a scarf and we matched our actions with the words in the songs. The children loved moving in time with the music.

 

Year 2 were lucky to have the exciting opportunity to take part in a music workshop run by the Hampshire Music Service. Millais and Nightingale got their hands on some bamboo tamboos and found out that these are traditional instruments from the Caribbean. We were taught that they can be played by tapping on the floor or hitting them on the side with a beater, the children loved the different sounds that these techniques made! We were taught some different Caribbean beats and a couple of songs to play along with too!

 

A massive thank you to the HSA for organising and funding such a wonderful enrichment opportunity for the children, this would not have been possible without their support! The children had a wonderful time taking part!
