Growing Together

Jumping for Joy – Whole School HSA Fundraising Event

We were joined on Monday 28th April in our worship time to announce the total of monies raised by the Jumping for Joy Initiative.  On Monday, the jumps made by children at St Bede had already exceeded 166,000! Over £4,000 has already been raised which is an incredible total and will benefit all children at St Bede over the coming year. The HSA provide much needed financial support to fund and off set the cost of purchases and initiatives that school budgets alone are no longer able to cover in addition to staff costs.

Examples of where money raised by the HSA has gone this year include Creature Teachers visiting Year R, Chinese Dragon Workshops for children in Year 2, subsidising trips to Sea City, Butser Farm, Salisbury Museum, The Science Centre and Fairthorne Manor for Years 2,3,4, 5 and 6 and will be supporting the cost of the upcoming Year 1 trip to Hillers Arboretum this summer. The HSA also funded the entire cost of the visit from the BBC rhyme rocket team earlier in the year and provide lovely treats such as ice lollies at sports day each summer and keep our ICT resources up to date and way beyond the provision some other state schools locally are able to provide.

We are so grateful to be so well supported in this way and are able to enrich children’s experience at school, creating wonderful memories of their time at St Bede because of the financial help provided. Thank you to everyone for your engagement in initiatives, events and especially to those who volunteer time to plan and run school events.
