Please remember that we are working towards being a smart phone free school. Our new policy was consulted on earlier in the year and reflects the growing understanding of the risk access to smart devices can create for our children and young people. Please note that there is no requirement for any child at St Bede to have access to a mobile phone.

 

Any phones that are brought into school need to be handed in to teaching staff at the beginning of each day and, as has always been the case at St Bede, no child is allowed to use their phone during the school day. There are some children who may need access to a mobile phone for medical reasons and this is acknowledged within the policy, but needs to be agreed with senior staff at school, so that these needs are known, understood and supported appropriately across the school day.
