    Fri 21 Oct 2022

Thank you to the St. Bede HSA for organising and running our KS2 discos on Wednesday night.  Everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

  • Sporting Success

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

Earlier this summer, six children from St Bede were selected to represent Winchester and District Athletics Club (WADAC) in their U11 league competitions.

Their squad of 45 athletes have now been confirmed as overall winners of the Wessex League Quadkids Championship for 2022. This is an amazing achievement having successfully won against 23 other athletic clubs covering the entire Wessex area.

    Congratulations to our amazing athletes!

  • School of Kindness

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

Earlier this week, we were invited by the School of Kindness (https://schoolofkindness.org/) to take part in project which is looking at children’s perceptions of kindness.  Our invited role in the project involved Mrs Tanya Smith, who previously worked at our school, as leader of EYFS, coming into school and filming our ambassadors of kindness who spoke about what kindness looks like to them.

The video clips will be used as part of a presentation for a pilot scheme for The Kindness Awards in partnership with fellow charity Inspire + and will be shown within school settings to other children and adults to promote the meaning of kindness.  We are looking forward to seeing the outcomes of the project later in the term – well done to everyone involved!

  • Christmas Shoe box collection

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

A huge thank you for all of the generous donations sent in today for the Christmas shoe box project. Our School councillors helped members of Winchester Rotary to collect over 50 amazing boxes which will be sent to children who may not otherwise receive presents this year, what a special thing to have done, thank you again.

This project has been a fantastic way to help children see the role they can play showing kindness to others both closer to home and further away.

  • Harvest Festival Thanks!

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

It was lovely to see so many families at Holy Trinity Church this week for our Harvest Celebrations. We were very proud of the children who sang and danced beautifully and spoke so clearly - Well done to everyone! Thank you to Holy Trinity Church for allowing us to gather in their church.  We would also like to say thank you again to everyone who brought in Harvest gifts. These were gratefully received by the Unit 12 Community food pantry on Thursday and our global ambassadors are looking forward to finding out more about the work of the community food pantry later in the term.

  • NSPCC – Speak Out. Stay safe Assemblies and Workshops

    Fri 14 Oct 2022

As you know, the NSPCC visited our school this week and delivered their Speak out. Stay safe workshops to Year 5 and Year 6 to share information with your child about how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries.  It was a very worthwhile and empowering session for both pupils and teachers.  They spoke to the children and staff about the valuable work they do across the country, and talked about how important it is for everyone in our school community to join them in their ‘fight for every childhood’.

  • Black History Month

    Fri 07 Oct 2022

October is Black History Month in the UK and across the school we are taking the opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contributions black people have made to our society. We work hard to promote diversity widely across the school and across the year. We are always keen to explore how we share the message and show through our actions that everyone is welcome and valued at St Bede.
